<br />
I've been thinking about doing a different blog for some time now - something that fits me a bit better and I've decided to do just that with a focus on my experiences as a makeup artist. I always wanted to incorporate that element here but felt it just wouldn't work.<br />
<br />
Please follow my new blog <a href="http://agirlandherzuca.blogspot.co.uk/">A GIRL AND HER ZUCA: INSIDE THE MIND OF A MAKEUP ARTIST</a>Vickyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15926564582394712675noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1693124172364392241.post-39685432444960843712012-03-29T16:23:00.000+01:002012-03-29T16:23:59.019+01:00Viva Glam Nicki<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4wYovBixNSeAzOP2HqQwp7fCXqIg8GfDX8bK7Wve62WM2Whp_zS_hqrJOyyZXEajnWYePsnWOB26kKQVy6MmHUTyIXyYjVmh4FpLpFEMmb7EW3mIkNF60e08C8yNli0soH3DY9Y4qWJky/s1600/cf658aa8782311e18bb812313804a181_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4wYovBixNSeAzOP2HqQwp7fCXqIg8GfDX8bK7Wve62WM2Whp_zS_hqrJOyyZXEajnWYePsnWOB26kKQVy6MmHUTyIXyYjVmh4FpLpFEMmb7EW3mIkNF60e08C8yNli0soH3DY9Y4qWJky/s320/cf658aa8782311e18bb812313804a181_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
I picked Viva Glam Nicki up on a recent trip to MAC and as you've probably seen a hundred and one of these posts already I'm not going to ramble on and on about how beautiful it is.<br />
<br />
I also know that Instagram, as divine as it is, can distort colours so here is a completely untouched, unedited and unfiltered version :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjToCEPGFFP-oE3oe_Oj2b1TTV50g7q7Xle_tsoE0XZJ0iXN02W1xF70_KwBiuRoQrwdJapQoTUohGu1879BsZLM-wsER3D_lpmZKPiQ4n85vji9ihyAyii9nIZ0VcoIKV96gDRtUQrMdQL/s1600/photo+(3).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjToCEPGFFP-oE3oe_Oj2b1TTV50g7q7Xle_tsoE0XZJ0iXN02W1xF70_KwBiuRoQrwdJapQoTUohGu1879BsZLM-wsER3D_lpmZKPiQ4n85vji9ihyAyii9nIZ0VcoIKV96gDRtUQrMdQL/s320/photo+(3).JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
Hope you're all enjoying the beautiful weather we're having in the UK at the moment, apparently it isn't here to stay so make the most of what is clearly our summer!<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><b>Greed</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>What is your most inexpensive beauty product?</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>What is your most expensive beauty product?</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br />
</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Inexpensive - </i>this is a tough one (mainly because I don't want to go and search through my makeup bag and kit so I'm doing it off the top of my head!) but I think it's probably my <b>Natural Collection cream blush</b> - it's the most beautiful natural colour for cheeks and lips and retails for £1.99.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Expensive</i> - This one is a lot easier! If brushes were included they would definitely be at the top of this list, as would the combined cost of my MAC palettes (eyes, lips and cheeks - they are eye-wateringly expensive!) but for a single product it would be my <b>NARS Sheer Glow</b> which retails at £29.50 and has been repurchased more times than I dare to think of!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Wrath</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Which beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>What has been the hardest to find?</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Love/Hate</i> - <b>Benefit They're Real Mascara</b>. I really like this mascara; I like the brush, I like how it applies and I like how it makes my lashes look. Positives aside it is the worst mascara I have ever had the misfortune of trying to remove. I only apply one coat and it still takes two or three Bioderma soaked cotton pads to try and get the mascara off completely. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Hardest to find</i> - I have two: <b>Embryolisse</b> and <b>Bioderma</b>. I'd struggled for ages to find these in the UK and only managed to get my hands on them at IMATS however I am informed you can buy both at Guru Makeup Emporium in London and Embryolisse is also stocked in Screenface. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Gluttony</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>What are your most delicious beauty products?</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br />
</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Most delicious products - </i><b>Lush lip-scrub</b> is actually good enough to eat. Aside from that I love the minty fresh <b>OCC lip tars</b>.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Sloth</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br />
</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Neglected due to laziness - </i>on an every day basis I would say <b>eye liner/shadow. </b>I just can't be bothered to apply full eye makeup every day and tend to only make the time when I'm going somewhere. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Pride</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Which beauty product gives you the most confidence?</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br />
</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Confidence boosting product - </i>For me, that would be <b>foundation</b>. My skin isn't my favourite feature and I definitely rely on foundation to even out my skin tone and cover the slight marking/scarring on my cheeks - more on that another time.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Lust</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>What I find attractive</i> - this is quite a random question for a beauty tag but I'll go with it. It's a cliché but for me, personality is key. There is nothing more attractive than a man who can make me laugh/is a nice person. In terms of physical appearance: strong arms/good shoulders are always a bonus! But you can't beat nice eyes and a good smile.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Envy</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Which item would you most like to receive as a gift?</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br />
</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>I would most like to receive - </i>I love perfume so I'd say a really nice fragrance. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Well that completes my Seven Deadly Beauty Sins! I tag you all and I'd love to see your answers so please if you do this tag, leave a link in the comments.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
Sorry I've been such a bad blogger lately; I've been so busy with work and photo shoots etc that I haven't had time to sit down and blog, nor even sort my giveaway prize which is very, very naughty of me.<br />
<br />
I have much of this week free though so in addition to finally sorting Aoife's MAC Lipstick out I will be posting about some new things I've picked up recently and maybe even some of my work if you would like to see it?<br />
<br />
I hope you're all well and enjoying the beautiful weather.<br />
<br />
Until next time, here are some pictures :)<br />

<br />
I input everyone into a spreadsheet and I was quite strict with it - several people didn't leave the lipstick they wanted with their comment which was part of being entered so they were not counted; similarly, for two entries I said 'share on your blog' so facebook entries were not considered as two entries. As such, the final number on the spreadsheet was 64 which I input into random.org.<br />
<br />
<br />

It also plays a key role in character development; the more an actor looks like the character, the more likely he or she will act the part. This distinction has some real life applications. For those who may not feel so great physically or who are dealing with emotional setbacks, makeup can do wonders. A woman who looks beautiful and healthy will very often begin to act beautiful and healthy. <br />
Designed to create a 'pixel-perfect' finish, Real Techniques brushes are made from hand-cut Taklon bristles, are cruelty free and labelled and colour coded for ease of use. Oh and they were designed by professional makeup artist Samantha Chapman (aka one half of YouTube sensation Pixiwoo).<br />
<br />
I purchased the Core Collection and the much talked about Stippling brush. The Core collection includes: contour brush, pointed foundation brush, detailer brush and buffing brush.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVi-aSuj4V_AYyKME9wp26Ga1baKfJ9u2-Es4Ge96y7_sQs2cuMw4dDLzmV-iF4T9elw0NaPWqK9XvEP2hE_yqfghyyy4X-_jGQzfN_Z-GCytEJwYK7taV3H8orDYXJzTQsQhkGAK5mYo_/s1600/004.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVi-aSuj4V_AYyKME9wp26Ga1baKfJ9u2-Es4Ge96y7_sQs2cuMw4dDLzmV-iF4T9elw0NaPWqK9XvEP2hE_yqfghyyy4X-_jGQzfN_Z-GCytEJwYK7taV3H8orDYXJzTQsQhkGAK5mYo_/s320/004.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbopP5fAzqXOuctUlvKbCKKX_uafUwi5CBTkmi2LNcDhXGHaS9cS3AorVpMIKUik7ZGMwjzeI4iNpavVrxALE47rsMvSKj50f04BivUinS7oC1o8AKARMKI4Z-CI2yvl0JnralkXM69zTB/s1600/005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbopP5fAzqXOuctUlvKbCKKX_uafUwi5CBTkmi2LNcDhXGHaS9cS3AorVpMIKUik7ZGMwjzeI4iNpavVrxALE47rsMvSKj50f04BivUinS7oC1o8AKARMKI4Z-CI2yvl0JnralkXM69zTB/s320/005.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Now I'll get into individual reviews of each brushes a little further down (it's going to be a long one so grab a creme egg and settle in [I've eaten two creme eggs since writing this - somebody save me from myself]) but I want to do a quick overview of the pros and cons first.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><b>Pros</b></div><ul><li>The bristles are good quality: they're sturdy but not scratchy as I've seen a few people say</li>
<li>They wash well: cleaning brushes is something I am very, very fussy about and the RT brushes wash and dry well and as yet, I have witnessed no shedding </li>
<li>They're a very reasonable price: the Core Collection retails for <a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Real-Techniques-Core-Collection-1403_1252038/">£21.99</a> (in Boots) for four brushes which is approximately £5.50 per brush whilst the Stippling Brush comes in at <a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Real-Techniques-Stippling-Brush_1253416/">£10.99</a>. Compare to other brushes on the market and you'll find RT are the best price for their quality</li>
<li>The labelling: not something that benefits me personally as a makeup artist (I'll get onto that at the end) but for someone starting to develop an interest in makeup it's a great idea. </li>
<li>They're synthetic: synthetic brushes are generally better at applying cream products.</li>
</ul><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Cons </b></div><ul><li>The design: I find them bulky - they're not heavy or awkward to hold, they're just different and I don't prefer them to the slimline/tapered brush handles I'm used to. Also, the self-standing base comes across as gimmicky, I don't stand my brushes up nor do I wish to. The case is a good addition but the design means you wouldn't fit them in a standard brush roll.</li>
<li>They're in sets: if I had the choice, I would have just bought the Buffing brush from the Core collection as it would be the brush I'm more likely to use - this isn't an option however. Now more brushes is not something to complain about I know but I'd like the option to be able to buy them individually. </li>
</ul><br />
So there's my quick overview on the pros and cons, I have a few more general points to make at the end but for now, here are individual brush reviews.<br />
<br />
<b>Contour Brush: </b>the contour brush is smaller than it looks so it provides more precision in application. It's brilliant for really getting into the hollow of the cheekbone to create a realistic looking contour and it also works well for highlighting. <br />
<b><br />
</b><br />
<b>Pointed Foundation Brush:</b> probably the brush I'm least likely to use. It's tiny! For that reason I would only use it on certain areas of the face (around the nose for example) rather than the whole face.<br />
<br />
<b>Detailer Brush:</b> a nice sturdy little brush that I will use for concealer rather than lips even though I think it would be a decent enough lip brush. It serves its purpose, would I have bought it on its own? Probably not. Was it an added bonus? I'd say yes.<br />
<br />
<b>Buffing Brush:</b> my favourite of the set. I've used the buffing brush to apply my foundation and whilst I liked the finish it gave and how quick it made the application, I also found it used a bit too much product and sometimes looked a little too heavy as a result. Since then I've been using it just to buff foundation in (after I've applied it either with the stippling brush or my fingers) and it gives a flawless finish. Vice versa, if you apply your foundation with the buffing brush, using the stippling brush to buff the product into the skin creates an equally beautiful finish.<br />
<br />
<b>Stippling Brush:</b> I personally love a stippling brush. The bristles are short and densely packed which I love, I prefer the tension this creates and therefore the finish you get with it as you're able to really work the product into the skin. The stippling brush beautifully applies both foundation and cream blush/bronzer/highlight. I've been using it to both apply my foundation or to blend foundation applied with the buffing brush and I love the finish, they two brushes are very complimentary to one another.<br />
<br />
Overall, I do like the Real Techniques brushes and I would say that if you're looking for a set of brushes that are both good quality and affordable you can't go far wrong.<br />
<br />
I hope this was somewhat helpful to anyone considering buying the Real Techniques brushes. If you have any questions about them or comments, please leave them below and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.<br />

<br />
I'll be honest - until I was browsing the Clinique website this evening I was unaware of this charity and because of that, I'm going to give you a few details about the Kiss it Better appeal.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><b>A few facts:</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><ul><li>Children's cancer is the highest cause of childhood mortality outside of accidental death</li>
<li>One in every 500 children under the age of 15 will develop childhood cancer which equates to approximately 1500 new cases of childhood cancer each year</li>
<li>Great Ormond Street treat 1 in every 8 children in the UK with cancer</li>
<li>Money raised by Kiss it Better will fund specialist nurses who will help enable more children to participate in clinical trials which seek to cure cancer.</li>
</ul><br />
Clinique have teamed up with Kiss it Better to launch the beautiful limited edition set I have posted at the top of the page. The set retails at £25 and 50% (£12.50) from all sets sold via clinique.co.uk and £6.50 from all kits sold at House of Fraser stores nationwide during the month of February will go directly to GOSH/the Kiss it Better campaign.<br />
<br />
Also during the month of February, Clinique and House of Fraser will donate a combined £2 for every lipstick and lipgloss purchased in House of Fraser.<br />
<br />

<br />
I'd never been to IMATS before so I was exceptionally excited to have been invited to attend, not only for free but also a day before the exhibition opened to the general public meaning the crowds were at a bare minimum. Having worked at exhibitions before I'm very aware of just how busy they can be and I've heard IMATS weekend can be even busier!<br />
<br />
The event ran from 2pm to 7pm and I arrived at around 3pm and stayed for about an hour which gave me more than enough time to browse all of the exhibitors and pick up the pieces I wanted. The event itself was quite quiet when I was there, there were a few talks held but I missed most of them - I had plans for Friday evening so I couldn't stay until the end and I was worried the snow would arrive and I'd be stuck at Ally Pally!<br />
<br />
Here's a look at what I bought...<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">Bioderma Crealine H2O - I picked this up from the Guru Makeup Emporium stand and I've used it every day since. It is absolutely brilliant and so far it's the only thing I've found that completely removes Benefit They're Real! mascara.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre - I've been meaning to pick some of this up for ages but I couldn't find anywhere that stocked in so when I saw it on the Embryolisse stand I pounced! I've used it a few times since Friday and it's a beautiful moisturiser. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">Real Techniques Core Collection (contains - contour brush, angled foundation brush, detailer brush, buffing brush) - apologies for the dirty buffing brush; I used it this morning and have used it since Friday and I really like it. I love how it creates a truly flawless base. I've yet to wash it so I don't know how it washes and I haven't used the other brushes yet so I can't comment on them either.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">1. What is your favourite nail polish company?</span></div><div style="text-align: center;">I have a few; for high end I love OPI and Nails Inc and when it comes to High Street brands I really like Barry M and Rimmel. Illamasqua also make divine nail polish.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>2. Glitter or no glitter?</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Glitter all the way!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>3. OPI, China Glaze or Essie?</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">OPI. China Glaze are a bit hit and miss for me and I'm yet to try Essie.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>4. When do you change your nail polish?</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Usually as soon as it chips! I do tend to get bored quite quickly and depending on my mood and the time I have available I can go from changing it every day to leaving it for a week!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>5. What is your favourite colour on your nails?</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">This changes all the time - one colour I always return to though is OPI 'Lincoln Park After Dark', it's such a staple.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>6. Darks or brights?</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Both! I love a really deep, dark nail polish but I also love bright orange or neon pink. I don't bother with seasonal colours either - if I want to wear black in summer and teal in winter, I will!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>7. What are you wearing on your nails right at this moment?</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Nubar - Knight's Armour</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

I love a good red nail polish as much as I love a classic red lip and Rimmel Double Decker Red is without a doubt one of my favourite reds! It's opaque after just one coat and it's just the right shade.<br />
<br />
On a different note - I'm going to IMATS tomorrow to the Pro event and I am SOOOO excited. I've never been to IMATS before and I really can't wait to have a browse and spend some money so expect a few posts on that in the coming days - I may even try to vlog but don't hold me to it!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Have a lovely day!<br />

Summer from <a href="http://nothinfancyreally.blogspot.com/">Nothin' fancy. Really.</a> left a comment on my 'Bargains and Baking' post to ask if I would post the Red Velvet recipe I use so here it is :) It is originally from the Hummingbird Bakery book however I have slightly adapted it - mainly with the icing, opting not to use cream cheese.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Ingredients: for the cupcakes</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><ul><li>120g (4oz) unsalted butter</li>
<li>300g (10 1/2 oz) caster sugar</li>
<li>2 large eggs (room temperature)</li>
<li>20g (3/4 oz) cocoa powder</li>
<li>40ml (1 1/2 fl oz) red food colouring</li>
<li>1 tsp vanilla essence</li>
<li>1 tsp salt </li>
<li>300g (10 1/2 oz) plain flour</li>
<li>240ml (8 1/2 fl oz) buttermilk</li>
</ul><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Ingredients: for the icing</b></div><ul><li>300g (10 1/2 oz) unsalted butter</li>
<li>600g (1lb 5oz) icing sugar </li>
<li>Approx. 2 tbsp milk/buttermilk </li>
</ul><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Preparation time:</b> 15-20 minutes</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Baking time:</b> 18-20 minutes</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Makes:</b> 12-16 cupcakes</div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><b>Instructions</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><ol><li>Pre-heat your oven to 190<b>° </b>(gas mark 5) and line a 12-hole muffin tray with muffin/cupcake cases.</li>
<li>Place the butter and sugar in a large bowl and use an electric whisk to cream the butter and sugar together for a minimum of 5 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, beating with the whisk after each egg is added.</li>
<li>In a separate bowl, stir the cocoa powder, food colouring and vanilla essence together until they form a paste. Add this paste into the batter created in the large bowl.</li>
<li>Sift together the flour and salt in another bowl, before adding half to the batter and mixing with the whisk.</li>
<li>Add half of the butter milk to the batter and whisk again.</li>
<li>Add the remaining flour-salt mixture and whisk again.</li>
<li>Add the last half of the buttermilk and whisk until the batter has a smooth consistency.</li>
<li>Spoon the batter evenly into the cake cases and cook on the middle shelf of the oven for approximately 18-20 minutes or until the cakes are springy and you can remove an inserted skewer cleanly.</li>
<li>Set the cakes aside to cool.</li>
<li>In a new bowl, use an electric whisk to mix together the butter and icing sugar, adding a small amount of milk/buttermilk to create a thick but spreadable icing.</li>
<li>Once the cakes have cooled, ice to your preference using either a piping bag or a flat palette knife.</li>
</ol><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><b>Tips </b></div><ul><li>The better quality of your food colouring, the better the colour of your cupcakes</li>
<li>Using an electric whisk combines the ingredients far more effectively than mixing by hand</li>
</ul>I hope that was helpful, if you have any further questions; please ask!<br />

I'm hoping to film a 'What's in my bag?' and a 'Haircare routine' this week as well as any other suggestions you may have so if there's anything you would like to see - please comment and let me know.<br />

So, work has been pretty hectic for me over Christmas and New Year but when it hasn't been, I've been baking up a storm. Above are Red Velvet cupcakes that I made last week. They were divine!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRl1JKbg6pDd4SK16t9uRIJmPq-EcGqV91GGreFuoaCioaAf324ti7TDae5J2X687n0uCS4Qtatiw-LZU5kYgAv8xp5sakcIFcCIHaqAO3nhho3uCYO_A3SPOE_HxB3j7TrD_np96kw19g/s1600/4500034045.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRl1JKbg6pDd4SK16t9uRIJmPq-EcGqV91GGreFuoaCioaAf324ti7TDae5J2X687n0uCS4Qtatiw-LZU5kYgAv8xp5sakcIFcCIHaqAO3nhho3uCYO_A3SPOE_HxB3j7TrD_np96kw19g/s320/4500034045.jpg" width="213" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Meet my new baby... I picked up this coat today in the Oasis sale for a bargainous £35, down from £95! I did see this coat when it was full price and I fell in love but I refuse to spend £95 on a coat when I have an insane amount - I love a coat and a quick mental count on the way home from the shop saw my coat/trench tally reach 15. I think I may have a problem.<br />
<br />
I'm not one for sale shopping if I'm perfectly honest - I find the sale items really aren't worth the effort, stress and elbow damage of getting to the bottom of a pile of tops that I never would have paid full price for. When I do browse a sale rail I will always ask myself one main question: would I have paid full price? The answer is rarely yes!!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Have you picked up any bargains in the sales this year? </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Have a lovely week! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

I'm finally back with a mammoth list of posts to do - the first of which being an Outfit of the Night from last week which marked my work Christmas party.<br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">I absolutely adore this Zara dress that I picked up in the summer, everything from the colour to the shape is perfect and this was its first outing of many! I teamed it with black tights (it was fff-reeeezing) in London and black ankle boots after I discovered my beautiful glittery shoes tipped forwards when I walked! <br />
It turns out I'm not as busy as anticipated with work and therefore can finally take the plunge and join the YouTube beauty <i>community</i>!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhPWw_9nTAfgniG7Kiu8W4EFmJh49O5NWNCQkEbg4WQjjCnFw1WxOFUehPujDH1OEPIb7ZxFBeLM2ULSY6tHzSf2CO66FPVgqbxz_etzCh8EMo9KYQgXILKn1KbHDxkeS6SNxJirSYlWT4/s1600/sparkle%252Ceyelashes%252Cglitter%252Cgrey%252Ceye%252Cgirl-7cb09d912dd83b5fba8b0ea2c9a45bc7_h_large.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhPWw_9nTAfgniG7Kiu8W4EFmJh49O5NWNCQkEbg4WQjjCnFw1WxOFUehPujDH1OEPIb7ZxFBeLM2ULSY6tHzSf2CO66FPVgqbxz_etzCh8EMo9KYQgXILKn1KbHDxkeS6SNxJirSYlWT4/s320/sparkle%252Ceyelashes%252Cglitter%252Cgrey%252Ceye%252Cgirl-7cb09d912dd83b5fba8b0ea2c9a45bc7_h_large.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"> image from weheartit</span></div><br />
I've highlighted the word community because for me, that is one of the key elements and as such, I'd like it if you'd leave me suggestions for the sort of videos you'd like me to do whether they're tutorials, hauls, reviews, vlogs, etc., etc.! Also, if there's a Tag you'd like to see me do - let me know :)<br />
<br />
Hopefully I'll have made a decision and have a video filmed and uploaded by the end of the week!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">See you all soon!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

Well we haven't so I have the unfortunate task of eating the sweets, it's a tough job polishing off this amount of Haribo but someone has to do it!<br />
<br />
Anyway, whilst eating my weight in Haribo I came across this tag on <a href="http://summer-romantic.blogspot.com/">Sophie's</a> blog and I knew instantly that I. Had. To. Do. It!!<br />
<br />
In Soph's words:<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><i>The 'rules' for this tag are fairly simple. <b>State the year you were born and your era and list 10 things you remember from the main bulk of your childhood.</b></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;">So here we go...</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I was born in September 1990 and here are some of the things I remember from my wonderful 90s childhood!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>1. The Spice Girls</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaIdK9DImAKCsERs7RF7zj8Cg9pzwrOmakD6XosEz38iB-kkjNZ9x2WXOV-sMt8ZtAcNUSciXBf2L1_O0QzaZcmq7JrILy95EwKViQy4AxGqjKYJ0XMAQWvRCjBU_Rc80YpJdUMbYHR01a/s1600/001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="205" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaIdK9DImAKCsERs7RF7zj8Cg9pzwrOmakD6XosEz38iB-kkjNZ9x2WXOV-sMt8ZtAcNUSciXBf2L1_O0QzaZcmq7JrILy95EwKViQy4AxGqjKYJ0XMAQWvRCjBU_Rc80YpJdUMbYHR01a/s320/001.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;">Girl Power! Who didn't love the Spice Girls in the 90s?! Sporty, Posh, Scary, Baby and Ginger certainly 'Spiced Up Our Lives' during the 90s and my childhood. My favourite was always Posh Spice, mostly because we share a first name but even to this day, I'm still a huge fan of Victoria Beckham! I spent hours learning the dance moves and words to all the Spice Girls songs and yes, I did dust them off during the reunion tour! </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
<b>2. Pokemon Cards</b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUSrPTKJeq-RIvjVtR8zPo9Zovqboz2JeTfkn5AOh26hBBmueqFuOkGxEmsk1Vw-v3lSZHLD-lEXaFfktFamIgKpcNnVS-deBFViEjFTxvlXXO-CpW60log2CB23zxYHibMNe9jQy9-84Q/s1600/002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUSrPTKJeq-RIvjVtR8zPo9Zovqboz2JeTfkn5AOh26hBBmueqFuOkGxEmsk1Vw-v3lSZHLD-lEXaFfktFamIgKpcNnVS-deBFViEjFTxvlXXO-CpW60log2CB23zxYHibMNe9jQy9-84Q/s320/002.jpg" width="226" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: left;"></div><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;">Many a lunch and play time were spent swapping Pokeman cards in between playing games of marbles over the playground drains (ok that sounds more like I lived in the 40s than the 90s...). Charmander was always my favourite, I had about 4 of his cards because I never wanted to swap him <3</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>3. Dennis Wise and Gianfranco Zola</b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhczFKesz2p8wASx8XJOwn0lipns4ap5PmYJImdhvgJ6hpyvEQuCXnK2oFmPCcTSBi554rZjJyy3OJtZ-bU9RlkbixbI4LQW6duf_Aqhq_oF0oWxGCNkaFRNm784CykU2CkEzFfoeJmjyqF/s1600/003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhczFKesz2p8wASx8XJOwn0lipns4ap5PmYJImdhvgJ6hpyvEQuCXnK2oFmPCcTSBi554rZjJyy3OJtZ-bU9RlkbixbI4LQW6duf_Aqhq_oF0oWxGCNkaFRNm784CykU2CkEzFfoeJmjyqF/s320/003.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;">Chelsea have always been a huge part of my life and growing up, the two men above were a massive part of my childhood. I could go into detail of the players I adored growing up but for me, Zola and Wise were the ultimate.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>4. Kids TV</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDQmA2BIQ-NZf8vq1sslwv62U8ikPJj18HpIU_YsY7LuAR7Ue7CO-IKwe0dFFxgqBGj9zWIt9UIdByv3-hRl2Fv8gdCqfPPr1U8T_GEUbQNa0A8GptmUP2mcsmrZoLPlDZQjtf7_FrTzcr/s1600/004.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDQmA2BIQ-NZf8vq1sslwv62U8ikPJj18HpIU_YsY7LuAR7Ue7CO-IKwe0dFFxgqBGj9zWIt9UIdByv3-hRl2Fv8gdCqfPPr1U8T_GEUbQNa0A8GptmUP2mcsmrZoLPlDZQjtf7_FrTzcr/s320/004.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Kids TV was beyond awesome in the 90s! One of my favourite shows was Noah's Island but nobody seems to remember it! It was about animals that were en route to the zoo when their ship got wrecked and they all ended up on an island that was run by a Polar bear named Noah. It was amazing!<br />
<br />
Other favourites were: The Queen's Nose, The Snorks, The Smurfs, The Hair Bear Bunch, Wacky Races, Arthur, The Faraway Tree, The Worst Witch, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Power Rangers and SO many more. Seriously, I could list my favourite shows ALL day. Kids TV isn't what it was!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;"><b>5. Aliens</b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieKlvsHWR3MR-YJNz6CCc7otQSjG31Ak0v-5MltYbD6wRd7QevO3QSTjI5l1tJni6dPnvJnzQfb-ShGFPt3TkHiecP4vJT_CfhAxX7BPOiMCZTsjJSFPDBo15D-CgtdQy-SStgZW9aDgls/s1600/005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieKlvsHWR3MR-YJNz6CCc7otQSjG31Ak0v-5MltYbD6wRd7QevO3QSTjI5l1tJni6dPnvJnzQfb-ShGFPt3TkHiecP4vJT_CfhAxX7BPOiMCZTsjJSFPDBo15D-CgtdQy-SStgZW9aDgls/s320/005.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Aliens. We all had one. We all thought if we stuck them together they'd make a baby. They never did. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>6. Walkman Cassette Players</b></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIetsf-UMJA9s68HEllqNC6RKup8-DFoyA1jiHZY6C7KiEV2-1P7UoBF6sc92Fb4p3w5zQ61cqR7929ArFwrc130SaTJzbE0JPVrGGUHDNL3cEfFkyoSsQTXCCKMM0BRQjoYHKL6n20pEa/s1600/006.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="307" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIetsf-UMJA9s68HEllqNC6RKup8-DFoyA1jiHZY6C7KiEV2-1P7UoBF6sc92Fb4p3w5zQ61cqR7929ArFwrc130SaTJzbE0JPVrGGUHDNL3cEfFkyoSsQTXCCKMM0BRQjoYHKL6n20pEa/s320/006.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">These bad boys were the height of cool when I was little and the only way to listen to your cassette tapes of songs you'd recorded off the radio! You couldn't skip tracks, you just had to fast forward and hope for the best. Ah the good days!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"> <b>7. Videos</b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzU56yKP3oN1Hu5_LaUfbxlOMrBbeVIWvH3kV1k3PNpVLcXztnHF1toqocxY0H__NA2gsXuaCfKq3KWXi00NCHzF72nyakpJo0YYE4hDvo604ZdNjc5ZXZqfGv87btZ6krwPBf9gJt6ISu/s1600/007.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzU56yKP3oN1Hu5_LaUfbxlOMrBbeVIWvH3kV1k3PNpVLcXztnHF1toqocxY0H__NA2gsXuaCfKq3KWXi00NCHzF72nyakpJo0YYE4hDvo604ZdNjc5ZXZqfGv87btZ6krwPBf9gJt6ISu/s1600/007.png" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Much like the humble cassette tape, videos were the be all and end all in the days before disks became popular (or were invented - maybe they were invented and we didn't have them?). I'll never forget the days I spent watching my favourite Disney films (classic Disney, none of that remastered nonsense!) on video tape. I still have them all in the loft - heaven knows how I'll ever play them again!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>8. Baby Born</b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZgFth8ctuvls1K9KcSxAKT7arLFUlUqCq7zYCXktV9JllulA6t6CoYf-Gt4AzQ6gAkmM9J5wTou5YMC0RHc7s315bCQqRIQVV0lo2LhCJHd6GR529awq7KffP4wv3jxlTf8u-93nej5ON/s1600/008.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZgFth8ctuvls1K9KcSxAKT7arLFUlUqCq7zYCXktV9JllulA6t6CoYf-Gt4AzQ6gAkmM9J5wTou5YMC0RHc7s315bCQqRIQVV0lo2LhCJHd6GR529awq7KffP4wv3jxlTf8u-93nej5ON/s320/008.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Yes I had a Baby Born and yes I thought you fact you could 'feed' it was the best thing ever! Considering I was never much of a baby person, I loved this doll! I think it's still in the loft, I'm such a hoarder! </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>9. Aesop's Fables</b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9ReAe1im0Bh9OcJilClcZmwrHhHCzlk2xizOVrn7P9QjWF8psnXNDyFxXKf2KP5bnEMNWHUaZx9VDPJM5RnY1tceRFAZUFQdMDuxU_3wFpudaIBzUvGEqbWRNIZfT1vcK7qWNMg0CuZmi/s1600/009.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9ReAe1im0Bh9OcJilClcZmwrHhHCzlk2xizOVrn7P9QjWF8psnXNDyFxXKf2KP5bnEMNWHUaZx9VDPJM5RnY1tceRFAZUFQdMDuxU_3wFpudaIBzUvGEqbWRNIZfT1vcK7qWNMg0CuZmi/s320/009.jpg" width="243" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I loved books when I was little and I learned many of them by heart - most of which were Aesop's Fables. I used to read them with my Great Grandad.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>10. The Park</b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjta9ftJqVcRJW69-lu6ggWkoECIS4hEScC2QLz0gTcQth0TDzOJboqW7vzA1e-UvprvTgdQlujhjgnbr1QoCD2wxcEQaVYbWuxeO0EKdL-EMJXyVQpON61cVfdkNZb2uRixs7IUvnoDI0a/s1600/010.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjta9ftJqVcRJW69-lu6ggWkoECIS4hEScC2QLz0gTcQth0TDzOJboqW7vzA1e-UvprvTgdQlujhjgnbr1QoCD2wxcEQaVYbWuxeO0EKdL-EMJXyVQpON61cVfdkNZb2uRixs7IUvnoDI0a/s320/010.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">Note: All images taken from Google.</span></div><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I spent a lot of time in the park and generally playing out when I was a child. The swings were always my favourite even though I hate heights and always have - work that one out! Even now whenever I go past a park I always get the urge to go and play on the swings. I'll grow up one day I'm sure...</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">So there we have it - some of my childhood memories. I honestly have so many and I'd love to share them all! </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">I tag everyone; I'm really interested to see what you all remember from your childhood so please comment below if you decide to do this tag!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
Do you remember any of these things?!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

I had some free time this afternoon and a blonde wig crying to be used (because we all have blonde wigs just lying around at home right? Right?!!) so with Halloween tomorrow I decided unleash my inner blondie! Fear not, I've already locked her back in her cage and told her she was NEVER be released again!<br />
<br />
If you're wondering, I have Show Orchid lipstick on and I still love it as much as ever.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Hope you've had a lovely weekend!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhszxIoCvhQ5JegFsiLoEOII2Af5EDOm0TRhaRG8JTnrNOYa3z2EG2BQPUOfgWu36tc1LLwhAJGiz2vK2TfkKwhnSvLC1pyyxXYKgt9PcbLQid2cMetkr8igv9c0_eNcNx1wa-LrWlxYFm-/s1600/317050_2616678414562_1183157325_33299694_1485945656_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhszxIoCvhQ5JegFsiLoEOII2Af5EDOm0TRhaRG8JTnrNOYa3z2EG2BQPUOfgWu36tc1LLwhAJGiz2vK2TfkKwhnSvLC1pyyxXYKgt9PcbLQid2cMetkr8igv9c0_eNcNx1wa-LrWlxYFm-/s320/317050_2616678414562_1183157325_33299694_1485945656_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Cherry Bakewell Cupcakes inspired by the Great British Bake Off which somehow I managed to miss yet I bought the cookery book, hence how I found out about these lovely little treats.<br />
<br />
I'm a bit of a baking enthusiast if I'm honest and seeing as I have quite a bit of time on my hands at the moment, it's a nice way to spend an afternoon. I'm aiming to make a proper pie one day next week, like a pie for dinner? But I'm not sure what sort I want to make... answers on a postcard please!<br />
<br />
On a different note, having too much time on my hands has resulted in me deciding to pursue on thing I said I wouldn't: YouTube!! Quite a lot of people both online and in real life have suggested I do YouTube and get involved with the beauty community as a way of sharing things I love and I've always kind of put it off, being too shy etc., but I've now decided I'm going to give it a whirl!<br />
<br />
I hope to have my first video up next week and suggestions of what you'd like to see would be brilliant so please feel free to comment below or send me a message or email :) <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Have a lovely weekend :)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
